I have been praying for her since I was told about it last night. I figured that it had to be something serious for Hillary to cancel her trip to London and Turkey.

Mrs. Rodham was a great woman. She had a tough childhood, but it made her strong. Despite her Republican husband, she was at heart a Democrat who raised her daughter to strive to become anything she wanted to in life. She was so proud of Hillary and Hillary adored her in return. I can just imagine the pain that she and the rest of her family are going through. Chelsea was also very close to her grandma.

My sincere condolences to the entire Rodham and Clinton families.

May Dorothy rest in peace.

23. condolences
1991, 10 years into the AIDS crisis; people were dying in droves at the huge hospice level, "NEW" drugs, usually in 6 weeks to 3 months of Auswitz skinny agony. The repukes had not even said the word AIDS, they left it to their minions, "God Hates Gays...." From a Gay Hippies perspective, The DARKEST of Time. Miraculously Clinton was elected & the light shone through. Miracles will always happen.
Condolences to the Clintons, et al.

In this handout image provided by Barbara Kinney, (L-R) U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, her mother Dorothy Rodham and Chelsea Clinton pose during the wedding of Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky at the Astor Courts Estate on July 31, 2010 in Rhinebeck, New York. Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former U.S. President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, married Marc Mezvinsky today in an interfaith ceremony at the estate built by John Jacob Astor on the Hudson River about two hours north of New York City.

31. Wedding Picture
This picture was taken just a year ago. Dorothy looks terrific, especially given her age. She is well-coiffed and she looks like she still has her wits about her. Chelsea's look of solicitude shows how proud she is of her grandmother.

29. Deepest Sympathy
Saw Hillary when she spoke here in Erie, Pa. in 2008, at Mercyherst College. It was hard to hear her, the cheering was so loud. Folks stood outside in 15 degree weather for 3 hours to get in. The line was the length of the campus and into the street. Something I'll never forget. God watch over her in this hour of sorrow.

37. Have strength, Hillary, have strength.
I know that you have more strength than your average bear, but as someone who lost his mother recently (enough)... please, Mrs. Clinton, I implore you to have strength. I lost my mother a few years ago, so believe me when I say I know it's not easy. I miss my mom every day. I still use her recipes when I bake and I still tell her stories to my children before they sleep. Every moment I'm awake, I try to make my mother proud. I wish my mom could have known her grandchildren as they have grown into amazing young boys (they are twins, almost five, for those who don't know).

My mother was taken from me thirty years before your mother was taken from you, and under completely different circumstances. Your mother got to know Bill and Chelsea, and no doubt she grew to love them as much as, or possibly even more than, you did. Be thankful that your mother lived a long and rich life. Treasure the times you spent with her and forgive the times that you two (no doubt) fought or disagreed.

You are an amazing woman, and I'm confident that your mother agreed. Be strong, Hillary, and continue down the path you've chosen. Strive to make your mother proud with every action you take. I know it's difficult to lose your mother, but take what she taught you and build upon it.

I have an idea as to what you are feeling, but losing someone close is very personal so I will never FULLY know what you are feeling. All I ask is that you have strength and make yourself and your family stronger through these difficult times. May your mother rest in peace.

We are so use to our mothers being there for us, that when they aren't, it's a loss that's so hard to describe, but you have done it beautifully. Our mothers, if not here physically, are always with us, in our hearts.

57. What a lovely post!!!
I'm sorry about the loss of your mom. It's never easy to lose a parent, particularly a mother.

I think that it's going to hit Hillary very hard because, not only were they very close, but also because Dorothy lived with her in DC. She will now go home to an empty house, Bill and Chelsea live in NY.

Hillary may be strong, but she's a lot more vulnerable than her public image. It will probably take her some time to get over her loss.

You too stay strong!!!

:hi:

56. It's also good genes.
Plenty of people have all those things and still die before they reach 92. Two weeks ago I went to the funeral of two people who died unexpectedly. One was a 54 year old woman and another was a 61 year old coworker who had been up to that point in great health.

But with Congress talking about taking away our safety net benefits and industry giving away all the jobs to beyond out borders, fewer and fewer of us have the basics being met.
