CNN revamps morning show, brings back Soledad O’Brien in 2012
Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution

CNN’s “American Morning” show, in terms of ratings and influence, is a mere afterthought compared to “The Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” “Fox & Friends” and even sister station HLN’s “Morning Express With Robin Meade” show.

This has led to a revolving door of hosts, at least ten over the past decade. In a sense, CNN is bringing back the past by returning Soledad O’Brien to the anchor desk from 7 to 9 a.m. O’Brien has been doing mostly long-form documentaries, her most notable the “In America” series.

O’Brien had been the morning anchor at CNN from 2003 to 2006. She will take over in 2012. In an interview today, she said she isn’t sure what the start date is yet but expects it to be early in the year. She will continue to do documentaries as well.

Ashleigh Banfield, who had been a correspondent ABC News, will start co-anchoring from 5 to 7 a.m. with Zoraida Sambolin, who had worked most recently in Chicago.

... at least she does seem to be reasonably intelligent, even if I don't always agree with her.

10. I know
I remember when CNN brought quailty news, which were based on more facts rather than propaganda spew for the corporations (1%) and the crazed right wingers who are far from being Christians.

13. Let the other stations do fluff
Do some hard rolling news all morning long and CNN would be surprised at the ratings they'd receive.
