First recall effort launched against Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, triggering unlimited fundraising

The state Government Accountability Board said the request was filed Friday afternoon, the first possible date of the recall. To succeed in forcing a recall election of the Republican governor, organizers must gather 540,000 signatures in 60 days.

The petition was filed by David Brandt of Muskego in Waukesha County and the "Close Friends to Recall Walker" committee. Brandt said in the government filing that he was registering a recall committee to "fulfill my friend's last request."

A pro-Walker donor started this recall to begin the funds raking in for Scott Walker, Dirty Dirty tricks. How ANYONE could stand behind a person this dirty is beyond me...

As you may know by now, a Republican filed a Recall Walker committee with the Government Accountability Board today as we expected would happen.

Please be aware that while this does open Walker's window to raise unlimited funds, it will not affect our 60-day window within which to collect petitions.

We are still filing the official recall committee on November 15th, and we will still have a separate and complete 60-day window for collection.

How does this affect the other recall efforts though? Do folks starting on the 15th lose 10 days? Does the 60-days-since-the-filing apply to everyone, or just these guys?

And in any event, any wagers that in 60 days "Close Friends to Recall Walker" will have turned in any more than 0 sigs? (They may have collected some, but my bet is they won't be turning in any.

All this does it to allow Walker to start collecting unlimited funds, the DPW can file their own recall and we can start the 60 day period signing period then. We will NOT fail. he's ticked off too many people here. I can feel that we're going to succeed. We just need to be a step ahead of them.
