Marco Rubio champions net neutrality repeal
Source: The Florida Independent

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said Wednesday he supports a Senate resolution to repeal the Federal Communications Commission’s net neutrality rules, which could be voted on today.

The resolution would repeal the net neutrality rules issued last year that go into effect this month. Net neutrality is the idea that consumers should have access to all Internet content and services, and not by limited by Internet service providers “that want to treat them differently so they can charge you more depending on what you use.”

.....

Matt Wood — policy director for Free Press, which manages the Save the Internet campaign — tells The Florida Independent that if the Senate resolution becomes law, the FCC “would not be able to adopt regulations on that issue again without further authorizations by Congress; if it does pass into law it would take away even more of the FCC’s power to oversee broadband and protect consumers online.”

Wood adds that repeal of FCC rules “would allow (Internet service providers) to block consumers from websites, from lawful content of your choice, block and charge you more to access certain sites, speed up certain sites or slow others down.”

According to this article, Open Secrets documents more than $298,000 in campaign contributions to Marco Rubio over the past five years from communications, electronics and Internet companies.

And, lo and behold, here is Marco Rubio, piping up for the clampdown on the free flow of Internet information.

This guy really is a laughingstock. A humble person would be ashamed of being caught lying repeatedly about his background in order to win a U. S. Senate seat.

Humility is not Marco Rubio's strong suit.

And that doesn't address the tricks he pulled for years in the Florida Legislature.

Maybe the upcoming Greer trial will flush out more of Mr. Rubio's secrets.

6. No, Rubio supports a resolution that would *repeal* net neutrality rules.
He's not about the free flow of information. Why... we just might discover too much damning information about what he, so far, has gotten away with unpunished.

8. Thanks, got it, was in between screens and going too fast. Sorry, but also...
I see the FCC is working toward getting us back where we need to be now. It's going to be a hard road overturning the rules from the Michael Powell tenure during the Bush years, not only that, the auctioning off of frequencies during the Clinton years. The strangle hold that the RW has gotten away with for the last score of years is turning this country into something that befits the Third Reich.

Thanks for the good news even if in reverse from this repug, may they scream all the way through the 2012 elections and beyond about the information that Anonymous, the OWS movements, and all that is coming out.

Information is necessary to motivate people to look hard at the forces that are devastating our country and the world itself, the survival of billions. I am amazed at the learned and dedicated research of the true facts of how this world is run coming out.

Glad you put this up, there's also that piece on the Koch brothers' funding a 'million' people to keep pushing their anti-government, lying agenda. Can't sleep while this evil is afoot.
