Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez Arrested, Injured at Occupy Wall Street Raid

By Hunter Walker 4:07am

New York City Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez has been arrested at the NYPD raid on Occupy Wall Street. David Segal, a spokesperson for Councilman Rodriguez, told the Observer he confirmed the Councilman’s arrest through a staffer at City Hall.

“City Hall knows that he’s been arrested, they’ve put in calls with the NYPD to see his status,” Mr. Segal said.

Councilman Rodriguez, who represents the 10th district, is not the only politician at the scene of the raids. Councilman Jumaane Williams, who represents the 45th District, was near Zuccotti Park and witnessed Councilman Rodriguez being taken away by police. According to Councilman Williams’ press secretary, Stefan Ringel, Councilman Rodriguez seemed to have been injured.

“The Councilmember saw Councilman Rodriguez bleeding and he was apparently taken away,” Mr. Ringel told the Observer.

2. Christine has done her share of civil disobedience over the years
She is way more effective being in the position she's in than being on the street. Give her a minute, geez.

4. Agreed...and this is going to need to be the Occupy direction.
Yes...we the 99% can physically protest, a lot.

BUT...the movement is going to need to evolve, quickly, so that candidates running for all
levels of government (from the local school/library boards to Congress) can get a kiss of approval
as "Occupy" endorsed.

We need to take back our cities, counties, states and America from the GOPBaggers and the T.Haters.

The tax dollars of the 99% are paying for the Police Militias, the 1% and their power positions and
the benefits of the Haters in Congress...and that needs to change.

Move it on folks! PLEASE, someone, get the moving on started and let's evolve this thing.
