Obama responds to Occupy protesters in N.H.

President Obama was confronted Tuesday by protesters from the Occupy Wall Street movement, prompting him to again offer an endorsement of sorts of the still-nascent movement’s message.

Using the “human microphone” that has become common at Occupy Wall Street demonstrations across the country, a group interrupted Obama as he prepared to deliver a speech at a high school here assailing Republicans for inaction on the economy.

“Mr. President,” the group said, “over 4,000 peaceful protesters have been arrested. . . . ”

Audience members, mostly high school students, booed, but Obama quieted them, saying, “It’s okay.”

1. Proves one thing - Obama's events are not restricted to a privileged few

Can anyone imagine something like that happening at a bu$h event? Or any republican candidate event? NO!

Republican event attendance is strictly controlled and people who would protest would not get in. I have been to a couple of Obama events and seen people confront him. He is very good at stopping and at the very least giving them the time to state their point, and making some sort of response.

You would never have seen this or will ever see this at a GOP controlled event.

being too restricting. As for his comments, they seemed ok for an event like this. If I were him, I'd point out the 1st Amendment violations that have occurred, along with some excessive force. Those are issues that affect all of us.

5. I liked his smile when he recognized what was happening. He has

been watching what is going on. Presidents are too often isolated by their staff from what is actually taking place. Good for him and good for them. Little upset with the high school students - if these protesters do not get some change soon you will be the next group in their shoes.
