Sheriff Arpaio to campaign with Perry
Source: CNN

Hudson, New Hampshire (CNN) – Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona will campaign with Rick Perry in New Hampshire on Tuesday, the Texas governor's campaign told CNN on Saturday.

The man famous for his tough stance on illegal immigration has not endorsed a presidential candidate, though he has been courted by the likes of Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, businessman Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Perry.

Arpaio is a hard-liner on illegal immigration in a state known for its tough 2010 law on the issue. Among other provisions of the law, it would require that local police, during the enforcement of other laws, check the immigration status of anyone they suspected of being undocumented.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit said the measure overstepped Arizona's authority, and the state is seeking a U.S. Supreme Court ruling to settle the issue.

8. Don't they deserve eachother?
I'd say go for it, big Rick. Let the voters of this country know how you really feel. Kind of reminds me of the time I heard that Reagan, wanting to present a strong right wing image of himself, said that he wished Adolph Hitler would campaign with him.....until he was told that the fuhrer's presence on this planet was considered to be in doubt by most.

Perry must be the flavor of the month, or Arpaio would have nothing to do with him.

30. That's the difference between Arpaio and actual Sheriffs
Most of them do their duty and aren't well known outside their home county. Iowa, for example, has 99 counties. I can only name one Sheriff, that being Sheriff Don Vrotsos of Dubuque County. You never hear about the 98 other Sheriffs here in Iowa because they aren't out attention whoring on a daily basis.

27. Both too obtuse to see their ironic differences?!1
Besides Goodhair being the weirdo whacko that he is, pal-ing with Ted NUGENT and flirting with secession, he turned around and tried to pander to Hispanics by acting compassionate, sermonizing his fellow Rethugs that they would be "heartless" to deport everybody. And the tool for Rethug White males, Ruben NAVARRETTE (hates "White Liberal males" for giving him Affirmative Action), revealed breathlessly that Goodhair had wooed him over iced tea, wanting him to get the word out that he is not anti-Hispanic. This would be Goodhair failing to perceive that NAVARRETTE is a wingnut tool who is not representative of Hispanics and who has no sway over Hispanics.

So there was the "Moderate" Goodhair, post-NUGENT. And he (and ARPAIO) sees NO contradiction in hooking up with somebody who is the opposite of moderate?!1

32. Arpaio is an albatross
Every politician Arpaio plugged, campaigned for, raised money for, or just had a kind word for went down in flames in California's June 2010 primary and local elections.

Russell Pearce, the architect of Arizona's immigration law, might have some words about him, too.

Arpaio is the perfect reverse barometer for the voters.
