Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - A statement from Syracuse University Sunday night announced Bernie Fine's employment has been terminated.

The statement says "At the direction of Chancellor Cantor, Bernie Fine’s employment with Syracuse University has been terminated, effective immediately."

Syracuse University placed Fine on administrative leave earlier in the month after ESPN aired accusations from two former ball boys, claiming they were molested by Fine in the late 1970s through the 1990s. A third man has also come forward with accusations.

28. It's worse to shelter the molester
That enables him to victimize more people, and it prevents him from getting the help he needs. So she's victimizing the molester, as well as the unfortunate kids he's harmed.

2. Link: Bernie Fine fired by Syracuse
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse University fired associate head basketball coach Bernie Fine on Sunday in the wake of an investigation of child molestation allegations against him.

"At the direction of Chancellor Cantor, Bernie Fine's employment with Syracuse University has been terminated, effective immediately," Kevin Quinn, the school's senior vice president for public affairs, said in a statement.

The 65-year-old Fine was in his 36th season at his alma mater. He had the longest active streak of consecutive seasons at one school among assistant coaches in Division I.

Fine's firing comes in the wake of new revelations Sunday, including a third accuser. Syracuse had placed Fine on paid administrative leave when accusations first surfaced.

4. Now time for the big fish - Jim Boeheim needs to go.
Termination is the only logical conclusion for his disgraceful lashing out at Bernie Fine's accusers. He needs to go... immediately.

12. Apparently she was aware of her husband's alleged activities
And talked about them in the phone conversation. It was one of the accusers who taped the conversation and it really is pretty damning. x(

29. Been Hearing Conflicting Reports
Local radio (Minneapolis) says audio tape in which Fine's wife fesses up is a doctored tape. Also, one of the accusers has a father who calls him a liar who fabricated the story. Looks like we all need to stand back just a bit and allow the cops and courts to ascertain all facts before we rush to judgment.

25. Scout leaders are never allowed to be alone with a child.
They are very up front about it in their leader training. Regardless, I would never let my kid be alone with any adult. I don't care who -- doctor, rabbi, teacher, neighbor. Not until he got big enough to shove a creep the hell off him.

Those poor kids! It tears me up to think of the psychological & emotional scars they're left with.

30. pederasts
Schools and YMCA's for decades forced boys to swim naked in gym classes so that pervy teachers could enjoy watching kids genitalia. If they were allowed to do the same today they would still be doing it.

So proud of those willing to pursue justice in these situations, most of all, the victims who have suffered at the hands of supposed role-models. God bless them all.

23. Can't they indict the wife, too?
She knew about the abuse and covered it up, which makes her an accessory who aided and abetted this crime.

24. New information alleges that she was guilty of abuse, too, with the same victim.
The recordings indicate she knew about and witnessed her husband's abuse, and that she later was with one of the victims after he turned 18. x(
