Venezuela captures top Colombian drug lord
Tuesday, 29 November 2011 00:21

CARACAS: Venezuela has captured a major Colombian drug lord known as "El Valenciano," Colombia's President Juan Manuel Santos said here Monday during a visit with President Hugo Chavez.

Santos thanked Chavez for the arrest in Venezuela Sunday of Maximiliano Bonilla Orozco, saying it showed the benefits of security cooperation between the two countries.

He was also highly sought by the United States, which put a $5 million reward on his head.

The US State Department alleges that Bonilla Orozco had been linked to the trafficking of several tons of cocaine from Colombia to the United States and the transport of more than $25 million from the United States to Mexico, and had extensive dealings with Mexico's brutal Zetas drug cartel.

1. I can only hope that the WH can afford kudos to Chavez for
capturing the "notorious drug king" since the US has been unsuccessful in doing so.

3. This is news so that all you non-believers of "The War On Drugs"
don't lose faith and we can continue to fund it. This "war" has raged since ronnie raygun came to save us.
I do not support illicit drugs.
I do wonder if that same amount of money was spent on job creation and health care we would see at least an equal amount of success.
