Washington PostThe House of Representatives is expected Thursday to honor Gabe Zimmerman, the congressional aide who was killed in the January shootings in Tucson that injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, by dedicating a room to him.
Zimmerman, who was 30, served as Giffords’s community outreach director.
The shooting, which took place at a constituent event that Zimmerman had organized, left him and five others dead, including federal judge John Roll and 9-year-old Christina Taylor Green. Giffords has been recovering at a rehabilitation center in Houston.
The room-naming resolution was introduced in July by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee and a close friend of Giffords, and Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.). It is being fast-tracked to the floor by House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) after months of deliberations on how to honor Zimmerman.

There's no doubt that Zimmerman should be honored. But what about JOBS? (Earlier the House voted on
a job-KILLING bill on visas quotas).
