...As the week began, Republicans opposed extending a payroll tax cut, according to Senator Jon Kyl of Arizona, the Senate’s No. 2 Republican leader. “The payroll tax holiday has not stimulated job creation,” he said on “Fox News Sunday.” “We don’t think that is a good way to do it.” ....

...He and other Republicans say the surtax would hurt many “job creators” among small businesses. Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner, citing a Treasury study, said less than 1 percent of taxpayers who would pay the surtax were small businesses....

2. With jobs going up over 120,000 in Nov

Sen Jon Kyl will do more to obstruct jobs creation in next 11 months. The jobs creators mantra, is a ridiculous defense. They had that in place for ten years and where are the jobs. The corporations are sitting on $2+ trillion cash, how much more cash do they need to sit on, before hiring. The more they put out the more they make, win win.
The green energy sector should lead the way, in job creation, through retrofitting and new commitments to the grid and commercial, home, municipal, school and federal buildings.
They should use the subsidies given to oil industry, to start programs for future energy needs.
