Report: U-S to punish Israel for security fence construction
http://www.kvia.com/Global/story.asp?S=1387387

The U-S may turn up the heat in an effort to force Israel to halt construction of a long security fence.

An Israeli newspaper (Haaretz) says the State Department is proposing that American loan guarantees be cut by the amount that Israel spends building the 370-mile-long barrier.

4. We'll say something less than 100% deferential
Even that is a risk.

9. In all fairness, that WALL is probably very expensive
at least a million a mile or more. If the U.S. pulled out of a half a billion dollars in guarenteed loans, it would hurt Isreal. I just don't see it happening.

2. Say What?
I'll believe it when I see it happen. All we have ever given the Israelis are lip service threats and WMD.

3. In other words we'll cut the limit of the loan guarantees by a few cents?
If I were Sharon, I'd be quaking in my boots.

Give him hell George. That'll really make him think twice :eyes:

5. Bush is a pathetic liar, he tries to look good to both sides, the left by
saying he is for fair treatment of the Palestinians and hard on Israel then goes Reich wing and doesn't follow through...

6. Of course
Should this come to pass, Israel will be happy to estimate the cost of the fence accurately. :eyes:

8. that would put an end to that shite
I'm not holding my breath but that wall (it's not a damn fence) is staggeringly expensive, it's really too bad Israel decided to play stupid games with the thing because on the face of it it's not a bad idea.
