Sandusky rearrested in Pennsylvania
Edited on Wed Dec-07-11 01:55 PM by titaniumsalute
Source: MSNBC

Former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky has been arrested at his home in State College, Pa., NBC reports.

Authorities showed up in four unmarked cars to detain Sandusky, an NBC staffer said. He was out on bail from his initial arrest on Nov. 5 on charges of sexual abuse of young boys.

The Centre County district attorney's office took him into custody not for a violation of bail, authorities told an NBC staffer on the scene — but for "something else."

And as KeepItReal said, get that stupid judge as well.

Seems that old saying has been updated...Shit Talks and Pervs Walk.

5. But
Let's do it legally and in accordance with the laws on the books...hope they throw the book at him and lock him away for a long. long, time.

But, I want it done in accordance with the law, not because I think he's pond slime!

25. Lock'em up and throw away the key is right!
That perv has no business on the loose, much less anywhere near a little kid. The only way we can be sure no kids will be abused is if the judge raises the bail as high as the 8th Amendment will allow. Then we can, and should, form a citizen lobbyist group to pressure the Pennsylvania legislature to toughen the bail requirements for child rapists, especially those who victimize kids 12 and under.

3. I sincerely hope...
that all those involved in covering this up are made to pay. I'd like to see the football program suspended for at least a year.

6. How does suspending the football program bring justice? Seem to me it punishes...
... a whole bunch of innocent people.

I agree that anyone with any culpability should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

school then protecting CHILDREN.

12. But the football program didn't commit the crimes....
... almost everyone in the football program is innocent.

A few are horribly guilty and should be punished.

Would you argue that all PSU students and faculty should be punished? Protecting the University was their reason for the cover-up, not just protecting the football program.

15. Those that were protecting him, were doing it to protect the program.
There needs to be penalty.

Saying that the "program" didn't commit the crime, is like saying that "corporations" are people.

Shut it down...completely replace the staff...massive education about reporting shit that goes on...and
VERY harsh penalties for those that fail to report perversion.

7. Funny
The only reason most schools exist anymore is for sports, especially football, and the revenue they bring in. Education is a secondary goal at best.

29. In all fairness, Penn State has been, and remains, a significant center of research...
... in a number of fields. Yes, football has become an outsized part of its identity, but has not made education a secondary consideration.

33. It provides a really solid education for the middle class
It was the best my family and I could afford, and I got an excellent education.

It was also considered a great place for companies to recruit. Two of my best friends girlfriends grew up in city row houses, got a really good, affordable Penn State education, and now have great careers that their parents would never have imagined.

I am so sorry to see such a great public resource tarnished by all these stupid decisions which were made to protect something as stupid as football.

4. My son had an interesting perspective. He thinks pedophiles are the way they are through no fault..
...of their own.

He also thinks prisons should focus on educating and rehabilitating inmates.

But he believes pedophiles can't be cured any more than being gay can be cured, that they can never be released back into society and should therefore be executed.

18. In "Incognito: The Secret Life of the Brain," the writer indicated some programs that work
That is, they retrain the brain to focus on other things - and build impulse control.

It won't make them non-pedophiles, but it will stop them from acting on such impulses.

21. Yes. The book points out that all pedophiles who have been caught had problems with impulse control
And their brains worked very similar to those who displayed other antisocial behavior for financial gain (stealing, etc)

24. Pedophiles ARE a subtype of sociopath
The only difference between pedos and sociopaths is this: pedos target children using sex as a weapon; sex crimes against children is their specialty. Sociopaths, on the other hand, target anyone, especially the vulnerable, but they're more versatile in their criminal activity and only the ones not bright enough to avoid getting caught end up doing so.

In short, pedophiles specialize in crimes against little kids; sociopaths are, for the most part, the same set of criminals committing different crimes.

come forward?

I'm asking because I just don't know.

If he is going to be charged with new offenses, he has to be taken into custody and arraigned again.

28. Still much less than the prosecution asked for ($1 mil) and no
ankle monitoring. http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2011/12/jerry_sandusky_charged_with_as.html

How can anyone think it's okay to let sandusky live next to a school unmonitored at this point? Maybe on the NEXT arrest (b/c more are surely coming)?

30. Even I Could Come Up With That Bail Amount
Sandusky will have no prob raising 1/4 million. He's probably stashed away a nice tidy sum from his years at Penn State and during his tenure at The 2nd Mile "charity."
