Russia PM Vladimir Putin accuses US over poll protests

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has accused the United States of being behind protests over the results of Russia's parliamentary elections.

Mr Putin said US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton "set the tone for some opposition activists".

She "gave them a signal, they heard this signal and started active work", he said.

International monitors have expressed concerns over the elections.

1. The US showed no such concerns

with Azerbaijan' s elections because the outcome suited the USA.

We don't like any elections that elects a party that we don't like in other countries.
Like we pushed and pushed for free elections in Palestine,because we were sure our side was going to win,and when our side lost,we declared the other side a terrorist Org.and decided we will not accept or recognize them.
In other words,people should only elect the people we like

3. I'm not sure that "we" want the Communist Party (which finished second) to win instead of

Putin's United Russia Party.

I believe the European election monitors arrived at the same conclusion about the validity of the Russian elections, as did Amnesty International, and I don't think the Europeans long for the Communist Party to take control in Russia.

5. True. And a US in chaos is easier to dominate, but Russia had nothing to do with

our economic meltdown during Bush's administration.

That meltdown was self-inflicted rather than the result of foreign influence. The same applies to Russia. Its chaos is self-inflicted by Putin's party and its manipulation of the electoral process. No outsider made them do it.

Russia has the right to point out their view of the causes of our economic chaos and we have the right to point out our view of the causes of their electoral chaos.

Comparing the Arab Spring to a virus is not new for the Senator -- but to my knowledge, coupling Russia and China to the comment is.
