Gay half-sister of Republican Gingrich backs Obama

(Reuters) - The gay half-sister of Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich slammed his position on gay rights on Wednesday and said she will support President Barack Obama, a Democrat, in the 2012 election.

Candace Gingrich-Jones, a gay rights activist, told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow that she and her older half-brother, the former speaker of the House of Representatives, were "mutually respectful" but disagree on gay rights.

"He is definitely on the wrong side of history when it comes to those issues," Gingrich-Jones said.

She said she would "work really, really hard to make sure that President Obama is re-elected next year no matter who the Republican candidate is."

She's clearly fond of him as her brother and this gives her tons of credibility whens he says she would absolutely never vote for him for president. (I got the impression she wouldn't vote for him for dog catcher either.)

... she was very decent to him as her brother. Made no bones about disagreeing politically and on social policy, but hey, he's her brother and they probably get along fine. Who doesn't have a relative with opposing political beliefs. You sure could see the family resemblance.
p.s. Rachel, if you're reading this: I love your show. You are getting better and better and the format is morphing into something special.

John Schlafly, 53, the eldest of her six children, acknowledged he is gay in 1992. Since then, Phyllis Schlafly -- who believes homosexuality is wrong, because all sex outside marriage is wrong -- has had to publicly square her vehement opposition to gay rights with her son's sexuality.

''It's not a problem for anybody but the press," she said, a little impatiently, on Tuesday night. ''He is very supportive of everything I do. He's a good lawyer and very helpful. He is not a proponent of same-sex marriage."

Indeed, John Schlafly works for the activist group Schlafly founded in 1972, the Eagle Forum, and traveled to New York to help his mother at the convention.

14. For Phyllis and son, it's about keeping their power in society while denying others their rights.

I doubt Phyllis 'believes' anything she is being paid to spout, just as I doubt whatever the right is preaching from one moment to the next. It's for the masses, to keep them diverted and divided.

Look to see these leaders of much hyped morality doing exactly what they say other people should not do, enjoying what they decry in others, hiding the money interest bankrolling them.

That's what they'll kill you for, interfering with their wealth. As far as hate crimes go, those are by the ignorant fools whose hearts are ready to find any excuse, in their petty way, achieve some power.

Cut out the words, look at what they do.
