Bachmann Ends Presidential Bid
Source: Wall Street Journal

Rep. Michele Bachmann on Wednesday ended her campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, following her distant, sixth-place finish in Iowa's caucuses.

Mrs. Bachmann had spent nearly all her time as a candidate in Iowa, but in the end she placed last among candidates who competed there. She drew just 6,073 votes out of about 122,000 cast in the caucuses Tuesday, or 5% of the total.

"Last night, the people of Iowa spoke with a very clear voice, and so I have decided to stand aside,'' Mrs. Bachmann told supporters in Des Moines. She had canceled a planned campaign trip to South Carolina, which votes later this month, to make the announcement.
