Rachel Maddow reports breaking news
that the White House is on "lockdown"
after a "smoke bomb like device" was
thrown over the north fence.

Someone threw what appeared to be
a smoke bomb over the White House
north fence Tuesday night, according
to the Secret Service. The White
House was locked down while
authorities investigated.
The incident took place at the same
time a rally was going on outside the
White House.
About 1,000 protesters from the
Occupy DC movement marched
from Capitol Hill to the White
House, Secret Service public affairs
officer George Ogilvie told NBC
News.

1. Just heard this on the 11pm news

They said the first couple wasn't there since they were out for dinner for her birthday. And that there were OWS protesters in front of the White House, but nobody was arrested. :hi:
