U.S. Justice Department demands voter-purge information from Florida counties
Source: Tampa Bay Times

The U.S. Department of Justice has sent subpoenas to nine of the largest counties in Tampa Bay, South Florida and Central Florida, demanding extensive information over how they identified and purged potential noncitizens from the voter rolls.

The subpoenas, sent July 30, were issued in a federal lawsuit in which the Justice Department has argued that any purges of voters done less than 90 days before a statewide election are in violation of federal law. ..... The state initially identified more than 180,000 potential noncitizens on the rolls. The state refused to release that list, which the news media and federal government have demanded, until Thursday.

.....

In addition to Miami-Dade, the eight counties ordered to produce records are Pinellas, Hillsborough, Broward, Palm Beach, Orange, Collier, Lee and Bay.

The purge and the high error rate of the state's database became a flashpoint in the national debate over voter rights and voter fraud. Liberals accused Scott of voter suppression, noting that about 87 percent of the people on the purge list were minorities, while conservatives accused opponents of abetting voter fraud. Republicans in states like Ohio, a crucial presidential swing state like Florida, launched efforts to spot and crackdown on potential noncitizen voters.

Ex-FL GOP Chair Jim Greer: In 2009 meeting, FL GOP leaders discussed voter suppression/blocking black voters

Greer also states in the following interview that "voter fraud" is a fictitious creation by the Florida GOP, to use as a cover for the real GOP agenda, which is the planning of deliberate acts of voter suppression. The GOP cannot control what the voters do in the voting booth, so the tactic now is to prevent as many minorities as possible from accessing the polls, by methods such as restricting early voting; stopping voter registration groups from signing up new voters; putting out bogus lists of suspected non-citizen voters to intimidate them and create hardship very close to an election.

Mr. Greer is certainly in a position to know what these bastards are up to.

And he nails them to the wall in this interview.

Here are the video clips of Jim Greer on Politics Nation with Rev. Al Sharpton, August 9, 2012, exposing the hard right wing hijacking of Florida, and the deliberate acts of voter suppression: Part 1 and Part 2

Hello, DOJ? Florida needs you.

We'll keep the light on for you.

1. The GOP is becoming ever more skilled
at voter suppression and voter intimidation.

They understand the numbers. They know how many voters they need to disenfranchise nationwide to win the election. They already did it in 2,000 and 2,004. And they did not steal a presidential election with good intentions.

Since the fake Bush win in 2,000 they stole most of the wealth of this nation through wars of choice, massive tax cuts for cronies, outright criminal fraud and bail-outs of criminal financial institutions.
