Billionaire Buffett backs Kerry's bid for White House
WARREN Buffett, the world’s second-richest person, has joined United States Democratic presidential contender John Kerry’s economic advisory team.

The billionaire investor has long been a critic of the tax policies of President George Bush’s administration, which he believes favour the wealthy and big corporations over the middle class.

"I’m available if anyone wants to ask my view of anything," Mr Buffett said of his involvement with Mr Kerry at a news conference in Omaha, Nebraska.

Mr Buffett said Mr Kerry had asked him three weeks ago if he would be part of an economic advisory council that includes Robert Rubin, who was the treasury secretary in the Clinton administration.

Neither Mr Kerry nor anyone on the Massachusetts senator’s economic advisory team have so far asked his opinion on economic policy, Mr Buffett said, adding that he expects to hear from the other advisers soon. "It’s fairly likely that I will hear from a few people at some point," he said.

1. Go, Warren!
Warren's a good guy.

The zillion people in Omaha who he has made rich think so, too. :P

Seriously, though, he's not your typical rich guy. Lives in a middle class home, drives an older car, stops at Dairy Queen when he's in town, etc.

Well, he owns Dairy Queen, so that might have a little to do with it....

3. I wish they'd hire a train to go campaigning around the country.
And, I'd love to visit Warren in the Buffet(t) car!

Sorry, I know this isn't the Lounge...but, I just couldn't help myself.
