Ethiopia convicts Briton of molesting orphans

An Ethiopian court has sentenced a British man to nine years in prison with hard labour for molesting boys aged under 15 in orphanages, the state-run Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) said on Thursday.

ENA said David Allan Christie had been convicted of child molestation on Wednesday and sentenced immediately.

It quoted court officials as saying that Christie had molested children in orphanages in Addis Ababa and three other locations in Ethiopia. "The paedophile had more than one encounter with six of his many victims," it added.
