for fight vs. Arnold

WASHINGTON - A swaggering Arnold Schwarzenegger was mobbed by screaming fans yesterday
as he began a campaign for governor that he - and Democrats - predict will quickly get ugly.
Ah-nold has given them plenty of ammunition during his years as a bodybuilder, businessman and
blockbuster actor. He has posed for nude photos, admitted taking steroids, smoked a joint on
camera and donated generously to the Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies in a bid to
atone for his Nazi father's past.
Collecting the formal paperwork for his bid to wrest the statehouse from Gov. Gray Davis,
Schwarzenegger shrugged off questions about his lack of political experience, saying leadership is
more important.
"Everything I ever did, I showed great leadership," he said. "People said it could never be done,
that an Austrian farm boy can come over to America and get into the movie business and be
successful. And you know what happened? I became the highest-paid entertainer in the world,
okay?"
Dirty deeds
But while Schwarzenegger is accustomed to winning against on-screen monsters and robots, all
eyes were watching to see how he will withstand what promises to be a nasty campaign.
"I would advise parents in California to turn off the TV for the next 60 days," Democratic official
