The unreported cost of war: at least 827 American wounded
US military casualties from the occupation of Iraq have been more than twice the number most Americans have been led to believe because of an extraordinarily high number of accidents, suicides and other non-combat deaths in the ranks that have gone largely unreported in the media.
Since May 1, when President George Bush declared the end of major combat operations, 52 American soldiers have been killed by hostile fire, according to Pentagon figures quoted in almost all the war coverage. But the total number of US deaths from all causes is much higher: 112.

1. Calling them "casualties:" or "wounded"
...generally doesn't tell the real story.

War wounds are different. They involve things like missing limbs and physical disfigurement.

That is the real cost.

3. Lets ask this question
How many of the wounded have died from their wounds;
Or to prevent any misinformation - let ask this:
How many of the wounded have died within 60 days of receiving said wound - regardless of whether the wound was directly related to their death.
Maybe then, we can start to get accurate figures on how many soldiers have died for Mr. Bush's Oil.

5. Why aren't we hearing more about this?
There is a LOT of trauma that is going unreported for some reason!

6. Why is it
that the media never shows pictures of the American dead and/or wounded? Is it because they know the support for this damn war would dive?

7. Bush has the answer.........."Pure politics"
That was his response today to criticism of the "war".
