Democrats push Edwards for decision
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP)

Fight all the way for the White House or return home and run for re-election to the Senate? North Carolina Democrats are pressuring John Edwards for an answer now, arguing that the longer he delays, the better the chances of Republicans reclaiming his seat in 2004.

Edwards could try for a political double of pursuing the party's nomination while running for a second Senate term. State law allows him to do both, but not even Edwards' confidants expect him to try.

So North Carolina Democrats wait for Edwards' choice while nervously watching the Republicans charge ahead. ---

Questioned about the race, Jennifer Palmieri, Edwards' presidential campaign spokeswoman, reiterated what the candidate has said. "He is running for president and he hasn't made a decision on the Senate seat," she said. ---

1. Edwards needs to decide soon
One of the major factors in Bowles's loss was that the primary was delayed for months due to legislative redistricting problems, giving him less time to campaign against Dole.

4. It got us a huge victory in Connecticut
Sorry, but suggesting that Lieberman's run for the Senate cost the Demomcrats the White House sounds pretty desparate, even for a DU'er.

9. Had more people known the true nature of Lieberman in 2000
there would have been a major outcry and open revolt when Gore picked him as his useless running mate.

Did you happen to notice Gore speech yesterday? Did you notice that Gore's position on Iraq and war on terra are nowhere near where Lieberman is? Or is Gore another of those elites?

10. "True nature" -- oh SPARE me
People knew EXACTLY what they got with Joe Lieberman. Joe hasn't changed -- Al has. And by the way, remember another Democrat -- Bill Clinton? Clinton agrees with Lieberman on the war. But then, you never much cared for Bill Clinton.

8. Any NC DU'rs here?
If Edwards chooses to run for President and doesn't double run for Senate, who are the possible Dems that would step up to the plate?
