5. Someone should bring up that Bush campaigned on the "energy crisis"

that his biggest supporter created. Even before anyone knew there was a problem in California, Bush was raising the issue in the primary debates, claiming that Clinton's lack of an energy policy had created an energy crisis.

That was not just an attempt to make a ton of money. That was a concerted effort to disrupt California's energy supply to give Bush an issue against Gore in one of Gore's biggest states.
