Top CIA resignations cause security jitters
AP , WASHINGTON
Monday, Jun 07, 2004,Page 7

As the US braces for a threatened terrorist attack this summer, top intelligence officials will be shuffling jobs. The question is whether Americans should worry.

"I really regret it," said Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein. "I think it's the wrong thing at the wrong time."

CIA Director George Tenet said last week he was resigning. It became known soon thereafter that James Pavitt, head of the agency's clandestine service, also was leaving in midsummer.

4. After being trashed from Admin., left and right commentators, one can
hardly blame them. Hopefully, they will return to their post with the new President. We can at least hope some will. ...Oscar

5. it appears that we ar not any safer than we were
and still have the same questions that have yet to be answered

among the scapegoats for 9-11, was the FBI -- but it was sort of spun to avoid laying it all on Mueller -- he hadn't been the director for all that long before the attack

so---the next attack will be blamed on CIA failures, but the "acting" director or "newly-appointed" won't bear the full blame because he/she wouldn't have held that position for that long of a time

I think we won't have satisfactory answers to any of our questions until the bush* mis-adminstration runs out of scapegoats and/or people willing to fall on their swords

meanwhile -- the Reagan funeral show is underway -- sounds like an opportunity for bush* inc. to issue at the very least "concerns" (if not a warning) about a terrattack and linking it to some comparison between Reagan's "stay the course" leadership" ability and bush*

for those still participating in the bush* drinking game -- you may want to add a swig for everytime bush* invokes Reagan's name on his next dog&pony road tour
