The editor of an Iraqi newspaper has appealed to Irish people to take to the streets during George Bush’s forthcoming visit and march against the ongoing US-led occupation.
Dr Ibhrahim Allawi was sentenced to death in the 1970s and lived in exile from Saddam Hussein’s Baath regime for 35 years. He is the editor of a leading Baghdad newspaper against the occupation, Al Ghad.

Dr Allawi ran the periodical publication in London from 1978 until 1995. Written in Arabic, it reported on the Iraqi economy, the working class movement and the terror of the Baath regime.
