Honda Motor Co. is recalling 130,617 CR-V sport utility vehicles because the driver's air bag may inflate incorrectly, federal regulators said Wednesday.
Vehicles from the 2002-2004 model years are included in the recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said some air bags have bad wiring and could inflate at the wrong rate, increasing the driver's risk of injury in a crash. Dealers will repair the wiring beginning this month, NHTSA said.
Honda also is recalling 19,572 Accord sedans because their instrument panel lights can fail. Sedans from the 2000-2001 model years are included in the recall.
Regulators said heat buildup inside the instrument panel is causing the panel lights to go out. Honda is expected to begin notifying owners about the recall next month, the government said.
