Court Hears Nuclear Waste Dump Clean Up Case
The Kentucky Supreme Court has heard oral arguments Wednesday over who should help pay the clean-up costs at Maxey Flats. The ill-fated nuclear waste dump is in Fleming County.

American Nuclear Insurers, which provided insurance coverage for the Maxey Flats site, brought the appeal.

ANI claims the policy was not intended to cover clean-up costs. ANI attorney Roger Warin says the facility's insurance coverage was intended only to cover events for unforeseen occurrences.

He contends the insurance policy was not supposed to cover the cost of maintaining the radioactive waste within the facility's bounds
