The national registered voter poll finds the Republican incumbent would receive the support of 43 percent to Kerry's 45 percent, if the presidential election were held today.

Clinton gets a Reagan bounce? (Favorable jumps 5 points since last poll, unfavorable declines 7 points.)

Poor Fox tries to put a happy face on the bad news throughout the article.

Bush has had the media attention for the past two weeks with, WWII Memorial, D-Day, G-8 Summit and Reagan's death, and he's still sinking in the polls. All of the cable stations have been trying to convince us that Bush is the popular wartime President who could never be beat.

I predict the more visible he becomes the worse he does in the polls, and with the election coming up he can't help but to be increasingly visible. Freepers and Foxsnooze talk him up so much that some undecided people forget a little and start buying the marketing. Then he comes along and reminds them what an idiot he is and there goes his poll numbers.

7. Kerry's strategy has been the correct one

He would have gained no ground or media attention by campaigning or fundraising during this time, and only would have earned the scorn of the corporate media.

He has showed class: publicly participating in the mouring process, yet not conducing a Norm Coleman style "non-campaign campaign".

I think those of you complaining about the Kerry campaign strategy are well-advised to lay off and let the professionals do their jobs.

Unless Kerry wins by a very substantial margin, it's still "up for grabs". The people who groomed Bush for pResidency (from 1992 onwards), and pulled off that Florida coup, aren't the sort that gives up easily. I doubt they'd want to see open rebellion in the streets (they're ChickenHawks, remember?), But I'm sure they have contingency plans for massive dissatisfaction.

If it is anywhere close, they will steal the election again.
We know this for certain. We know what they did in Florida
in 2000, and they are all set to do the same again in 2004.
They stole a double-digit lead from Max Cleland in the Georgia
2002 Senatorial elections and the media went right along, buried
their own exit polls, and made up a bogus story about "angry white men"
coming out of the woodwork (even in black neighborhoods) to vote
Republican. This year's cover story will be the anti-gay vote.
Like the Nader candidacy (again), it doesn't matter if anybody
really falls for it, as long as they believe that someone else did.

This isn't over until the Bush* gang is behind bars.
