Justice Kennedy urges democracy abroad
Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy says America's security hinges on ``the acceptance of the idea of freedom,'' and urged lawyers Saturday to promote democracy internationally.
<snip>

``We cannot fall behind in this struggle over ideas,'' said Kennedy, who has been on the Supreme Court since 1988. ``There is a very important part for the legal profession, for the American lawyer, and for this association to play in that struggle.''
<snip>

``The courts in Iraq are functioning, they're issuing judgments,'' Kennedy said. ``There are 22 law schools in Iraq that meet every day with full classes. So the substructure is there, the infrastructure is there.''

Wonder what all those Iraqi law schools think about Dubya's take on the Geneva Conventions ...

7. mirroring my thoughts Solly Mack
UIA urges democracy in the USofA.

Kennedy needs to heed his own words and uphold our Constitution and quit playing rightwing politics.

10. another day, another episode of the total farce
what did happen to the Impeach the Felonious Five movement? some called it treason ...

it wouldn't surprise me if we find the 2004 election in their hands again

what do we do if there are nationwide, widespread problems making it impossible to declare who won which state?

Justice Kennedy said there are ...
"22 law schools in Iraq that meet every day with full classes" ... and, Iraq is only as big as California ... hardly the picture painted by many warmongers and White House propaganda disinformation machinists ...

13. Mindless fluff . . .
As a law professor, I have met several Justices and Attorney Generals, sat next to countless federal judges at dinners, etc --- and I can report that not a single one of them has ever said anything that caught my attention as unique, clever, progressive, or worth recalling. They are the most boring people imaginable (with very few exceptions).

The Sup Ct is a joke.
