Migrants Bury Children Murdered in U.S.

By TRACI CARL

TENENEXPAN, Mexico (AP) - They fled to Mexico City, then to Baltimore in search of a better life.

But on Saturday, two migrant families returned to this poor town near Mexico's Gulf coast, torn with grief and the tragic task of burying their three children who were brutally murdered in the United States.

<snip to keep close to (c) rules and get to the following. Two kids aged 9, one 10. Two US relatives, are in custody>

...

As family members tried to hold her back, Maria Andrea Espejo fought her way to a coffin, opened the lid and embraced the body of her 10-year-old son.

"Why would anyone do this?" she screamed before fainting.

The bodies of the children were flown Friday to Mexico City, then brought in three small, white coffins to this poor town, tucked into the overgrowth of surrounding papaya and chile fields.

Violence begets. If it were not for Nick Berg being where he shouldn't have been, for a war that shouldn't have been, and for Berg's beheading being trumpeted by the RW scumbags who defend our evil administration as some sort of justification for the United States military, by policy, to act in a manner sickly sub-humanely, anti-American, and beyond morality--were it not for all of that, this would not have happened.

Kids model adult behavior. In fact, adults model the state's behavior. Long ago I learned in psychology that when the state executes someone, the murder rate goes up.

The headline should be BEHEADED IN AMERICA.

These kids learned from the TV. Too bad * monopolized "evil-doer" 'cause, although I usually think it sounds stupid, it applies.

We have met the evil doer, and he is us.

2. Sorry, but what bullshit
The killers in this case are not kids. They are adults, old enough to make their own decisions and, since it looks like a simple case, likely family members as well angry because they didn't get their money for sneaking illegal aliens across the border.

No normal, sane or rational person could have done this crime. It isn't our society's fault that these two were murdering bastards.

5. We can aspire to a higher level than "Sorry, but what bullshit"
Edited on Sun Jun-13-04 07:07 AM by Snazzy
Can't we? Maybe not. Well, I'm glad you had the opportunity to tell me that what I think about it is bullshit while you spread some with such apparent ease yourself.

The killers are 17 and 22. Which I and a few other folks tend to think of as kids (and one is legally).

Where in the hell do you get the notion that this is revenge for some alien smuggling scheme gone wrong? Sure isn't in the article.

Quote that (or similar in any article that I've seen about this): "Police and relatives say they have no explanation for the slayings."

They were family members, the killers. They beheaded, successfully, one little kid, and tried to, nearly did, the other two little innocent relatives.

That's not a simple case--that's extraordinarily fucked up. The only thing that's simple is we know who actually killed them. You've never had a crime like that in Baltimore. I don't recall any case with a triple beheading of little kids anywhere else US for that matter.

I am (or was) talking about understanding it.

Your second paragraph contradicts the first. You say it's simple and conjecture a motive right the heck out. Then you say no sane person could have done such a thing. So you have insane people acting on a reasoned motive--doesn't fly, does it.

Regardless, I don't know that I was blaming society (although those may be my dying words). I was blaming the boob tube for the concordance of Nick Berg's ultra public beheading with this sad mess. I was also blaming violent times too.

I strongly believe violence begets violence and can offer you fine directions on how you may go off and research that for yourself.

What twisted these guy's heads? How do we, as in society, prevent stuff like that? These are the deeper questions. You don't have to accept bad things happening, you can do something about it you know.

That's a far longer response than you should have gotten after the "BS."

3. Come on, get real...
criminal beheadings have been going on LONG before we invaded Iraq.

Saying our invasion of Iraq caused these beheadings is preposterous.

6. I'm talking about the timing
Could well have been the killers would have used a gun and shot the kids in other times.

I'm messing with you slightly there, DNR--I rounded out my opinion a little above in response to the "bullshit" reply.

"Caused" is stronger than what I meant. But not by much. My point is also about a culture of violence. Who knows what would have happened if we didn't have one. Let's not have one, one day, and see what happens (or I could point to say a variety of countries that don't have triple toddler beheading and we could compare difs).

4. I just don't see the parrallels between the two.
Three innocent children slaughtered and many broken hearted family members. What a world we live it?
