I-88 goes one for the Gipper
Call it the Ron. Call it "The Gipper." Or call it the Reagan.

But from now on, the East-West Tollway portion of Interstate Highway 88 is officially the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway.

In a special meeting today, the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority's board of directors unanimously voted to change the tollway's name to honor the nation's 40th president, a native of Illinois, who died June 6.

Jesus christ on a stick. And I thought Illinois had a Democratic Governor...

1. Actually, this is good! Having to pay to drive on what
SHOULD be a free public road describes Raygun to a tee!

HEE!

2. Stretches of highway are no big thing...
And Reagan was from Illinois, right?

We have a highway called "Reagan" in SoCal. But we call it the 118...

...probably should be the 666

4. Don't worry- LA's 210 Freeway is the Reagan something or other
and has been for many years, but no one ever calls it that.

5. Yeah, that's right
and really what better structure to bear the Raygun name then a freeway. I remember when he was Governor here he tried to put a freeway through where I live, luckily people fought hard against it. It Raygun had had his way CA would be nothing but a gigantic freeway.
