Analysis: Bush's Iraq Plan Suffers Setback
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040616/ap_on_re_us/sept_11_analysis&cid=519&ncid=1480

<snip>
An independent commission threw cold water Wednesday on the administration's insistent claims of a link between Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) and al-Qaida. That comes on top of the administration's failure to find any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Both ideas had been central ingredients of Bush's rationale for invading.

The latest findings, less than five months before the U.S. presidential election, raised fresh questions about Bush's decision to invade Iraq and gave Democrats an opportunity to exploit an issue that already had become a political liability for the White House.

"The administration misled America and the administration reached too far," Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) said. "They did not tell the truth to Americans about what was happening or their intentions."

At times, the administration has seemed to suggest that Saddam was involved in the Sept. 11 attacks against America. Democrats have accused the White House — particularly Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) — of trying to create that impression even though the administration has acknowledged there is no evidence to support the idea.

2. The rating looks like it has been freeped. 44 votes with just over a 1
rating.

Either the truth hurts or they don't want it to get in the way. :shrug:

6. This administration and everyone supporting it has to bury the truth
They is so much out there to bury these guys yet still the lie becomes the truth. I only hope enough voters do not fall for it. It's sad that no one will ever have to pay for the misdeeds of this cabal but enough for me to get them out of power.

14. Now back down to 3.11. Freepers sure are ignorant. They can't even
tell what is in their best interests, or the interests of their children, grandchildren, etc.

I just don't know what to say about people who are so morally and intellectually bankrupt that they could support a bunch of lying thugs like this administation.
