WASHINGTON - Sen. Bob Graham's book on the intelligence battles over terrorism and Iraq will be published Sept. 7, less than two months before the presidential election, Random House announced Wednesday.
The publisher said the book, Intelligence Matters, will come out just before the third anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that became the focus of a congressional inquiry co-chaired by Graham and Rep. Porter Goss, also of Florida.
Graham made his deadline Tuesday for turning in the first draft of the book, said spokesman Paul Anderson, and was reworking it to reflect recent events, such as the resignation of CIA Director George Tenet.
Random House did not reveal the terms of the book deal, which was negotiated by Washington lawyer Robert Barnett, who also handled President Bill Clinton's memoir, coming out next week.
