George Bush action figure coming to a toy store near you (GI George)
The Washington Post

Holy photo op, Batman! The president of the United States has become a military action figure.

When President Bush landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln three months ago in a naval flight suit, many commentators believed that the image of the vigorous president on the aircraft carrier would figure prominently in his reelection campaign. What the commentators did not predict is that Bush would become his own G.I. Joe doll.

Coming soon to a store near you: a foot-tall likeness of the president called "Elite Force Aviator: George W. Bush -- U.S. President and Naval Aviator." -

1. Exacting in detail
when you remove the flight suit, a couple of tiny pairs of socks fall out.

Call me "Captain Too-Much-Time-On-His-Hands"

If someone's actually willing to send payment for this, I'll forward the payment to DU, or the charity of the "winner's" choice.

3. Don't Do This!

Using a Black Sharpie in Toys r Us to write awolbush.com on the package.

Don't do that! That would be wrong, wrong, wrong!

(maybe a pre-printed sticker?)

NO! That would be WRONG!

10. That would be wrong!
And I hope people don't also get the idea of taking that black sharpie and writing "Bush Lied, People Died" on the package either. That would be horrible. Other things people should NOT write on these dolls would include the cost of the Iraqi war, the amount of soldiers killed in Iraq, or the simple "Haliburton Rules!" or "Got Oil?" Yep. That would break my bleeding heart to see that.

Here's my display suggestion: Take one GI Joe, bend him over from the waist, hands on ankles. Take one bush doll, stand him up proudly in his jump suit behind said GI Joe. Very simple and to the point.

25. PrePrinted Labels Seem Easier Than Sharpies
One could bring a whole assortment of labels printed at home.

Seems easier & faster than writing on packaging.

4. You notice it is'nt an "action" doll.
When these things get discounted, which won't take long, I'll buy one and turn it into a marionette. More appropriate IMO!

Maybe there could be contests to see how outlandishly the puppet could be dressed. Maybe a fundraiser?

7. I like this part:
-snip-

Bush is the first president to be so honored, "and maybe the last," said the company's spokeswoman, Lauri Aibel, who notes that some complaints have already been received. "We don't condone or endorse the president, but he fit the criteria of our Elite Force collection. . . . It would have to be somebody in uniform, a military hero of some kind, or depicting a military uniform

I'll go with "depicting a military uniform", cuz he sure ain't no military hero!!!
