Senior US intelligence: Al-Qaida may 'reward' Bush with attack
Edited on Sat Jun-19-04 08:56 AM by troublemaker
Bush told he is playing into Bin Laden's hands

Al-Qaida may 'reward' American president with strike aimed at keeping him in office, senior intelligence man says
________________________

A senior US intelligence official is about to publish a bitter condemnation of America's counter-terrorism policy, arguing that the west is losing the war against al-Qaida and that an "avaricious, premeditated, unprovoked" war in Iraq has played into Osama bin Laden's hands.

Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror, due out next month, dismisses two of the most frequent boasts of the Bush administration: that Bin Laden and al-Qaida are "on the run" and that the Iraq invasion has made America safer.

1. Bush absolutely IS playing into AQ's hands
And my suspicion is that this is not a coincidence.

The WORST thing for Bush would be for AQ to disappear. He and the extremists NEED an enemy like AQ, and so they're doing all they can to foster AQ and like-minded islamo-fascists. Because fascists need other fascists to thrive. Bush and bin Laden are two of a kind. They need each other.

3. Exactly
This is an article posted September 4 on http://www.alternet.org written by Ben Cohen saying that our government was looking for an enemy. They were building up our pentagon budget PRE SEPT 11

http://www.alternet.org/story/11427/

You may know some despicable characters, but are they mean enough to apply for this job posting?

ENEMY WANTED. Serious enemy needed to justify Pentagon budget increase. Defense contractors desperate. Interested enemies send letter and photo or video (threatening, ok) to Enemy Search Committee, Priorities Campaign, 1350 Broadway, NY, NY, 10018.

Here's the deal: We know our politicians have their work cut out for them. They need to find an enemy to justify maintaining the Pentagon budget as if the Cold War never ended. But the pool of credible enemies is evaporating. North Korea is even going diplomatic. The Soviets took themselves out of the running years ago. And countries like Iraq -- or tough looking trading partners like China -- don't make the cut.

<snip>

The trouble is the Defense Department needs to find an enemy in a hurry. The Bush Administration has proposed to increase Pentagon spending by $33 billion, the largest defense increase since the Cold War.

This inexplicable proposal is under attack by children's advocates, who would rather use the $33 billion earmarked for the Pentagon to begin modernizing our crumbling public schools and to buy health insurance for millions of U.S. kids and Head Start for the one-third of eligible children who can't get in because it's under-funded.

8. Given that the Maffia-Don trained OBL personally, AQ does still do
favors for their Boss.

Loyalty has run deep!!!

2. I wonder who "Anonymous" is. Sort of reminds me of Josh Marshall's
"Big Story" that he is working on with colleagues, that had us all guessing what the big story is.

I wonder who this "high official" is?

4. Munchausen Politics.
Keep Americans scared and keep telling them this administration is protecting them.....Then anything that happens would have been worse if Bush Company wasn't in charge. Munchausen Politics.

5. Munchausen Politics
Apt description.
Bushco & Al Queda are using Machiavelli's control method for dictatorship : "Since love and fear can hardly exist together, if we must choose between them, it is far safer to be feared than loved".

6. This reminds me of that "O'Pheera McDoom" article,...
,...right after the Madrid bombings. I'll never forget it because, a day after I suggested that another attack by aQ on US soil would be for purposes of keeping ObL's antithetical rival Bush in power, this McDoom writer published nearly an identical statement. It kinda' weirded me out *LOL*.

7. But would they vote for him again?
Picture this: it's a bright, sunny crisp morning in September 2004. Suddenly, without warning, two large cargo ships which were moored in the New York harbor detonate causing huge damage and many hundreds of deaths. The harbor is immobilized and people are recalling 9/11.

Meanwhile, about 10 miles away, a subway train explodes while it's in an underground tunnel. Now, people are in a state of panic and the entire country is immobilized.

Many are expecting Armageddon this time, but things quiet down after a few days and life haltingly tries to get back to normal.

Now the question is: would people vote for Bush? After all, his main (his only) premise is that Americans are safer with him at the wheel.

It's been brought out hundreds of times that we're in fact IN MORE DANGER than ever before. So why would anyone vote for him?
