Saudi forces, militants trade fire
Aug. 12, 2003 | JIDDAH, Saudi Arabia (AP) -- Security forces stormed several buildings in a suburb of the Saudi capital and traded fire with suspected militants Tuesday, witnesses said.

One television report said four police and one militant were killed in the shootout. It second day of reported clashes in Riyadh.

The government has been cracking down on Islamic militants since May 12 suicide attacks in Riyadh that killed 26 people and nine attackers. Saudi police have stepped up efforts to crush networks of al-Qaida, the terror network blamed for the Riyadh bombings and the Sept. 11 attacks.

1. Ruh roh Reorge
Unrest in Saudi Arabia? Looks like the entire Middle East could go up if that starts gaining momentum.

I wonder if the PNAC paddywhacks thought of this eventuality? Something tells me the onset of winter catches those clowns off guard every year.

4. They're counting on unrest in Saudi Arabia
It gives them the raison d'etre for securing the SA oil fields in "the national interest," taking the "Saudi" out of Saudi Arabia, and consigning the rest of the country to the desert.

2. It's about time the Saud's cleaned their own house
instead of simply exporting the terrorist garbage.
