Teen detained in attack on homeless man set ablaze
Associated Press

CORPUS CHRISTI - Police say a 15-year-old boy has been detained on aggravated assault charges in connection with last week's attack on a man, who was set ablaze as he slept on a bench.

The boy's detention in the Juvenile Justice Center on Saturday came after someone called police earlier in the day to discuss a surveillance video that showed the attack. That person thought his or her child might have been involved, Police Chief Pete Alvarez said.

The teenager who was placed in the center after talking to investigators was not related to the person who met with police early Saturday.

"Other people are being interviewed," Alvarez told the Corpus Christi Caller-Times for its Sunday editions. "We think we're going to resolve this; we're very close."

3. A Clockwork Orange. . .
Ultraviolence, ya know. Alex and his Droogs did the same. Mayhaps the young lad's been watching too much telly. . .

2. Darn! From the headline's wording, I thought...
that real justice had been served. Oh well, one can always hope that someone will set the POS on fire at some point. Marshmallows anyone?

4. The murder of homeless people has
been increasing in frequency lately - they just buried a guy here who was attacked by teens, beaten to death w/ bricks. I think there were a few other cases around the country in the news over the the last few weeks as well.

Our society is getting more and more violent. When people are powerless against their oppressors, they begin to go after each other.
