Namibian president expected to arrive in Cuba today

It will be Nujoma's fifth trip to Cuba. Both countries established diplomatic relations on March 21, 1990, the day Namibia became independent from South Africa.

1. I had such high hopes in SWAPO and Nujoma.

They were good comrades of the ANC and Angola's MPLA and FRELIMO of Mozambique and the other liberation movements. But since abandoning many progressive ideals, Nujoma acts more like fundamentalist preacher than a socialist. He is obsessed with gay-hatred, for instance, pledging to prosecute them.
