KABUL, June 25 (Reuters) - Two U.S. Marines were killed and one wounded in an operation against Islamic militants in eastern Afghanistan, the U.S. military said on Friday.

There are few US soldiers there. I think that the Karzai regime is extremely weak. It will be overthrown everywhere and the US will only control Kabul and a few cities and bases. So much for their alleged ambitions. Perhaps it really was always about Unocal's pipeline.

That is why Karzai is called the mayor of Kabul. And I think even Kabul can be nip and tuck at times.
