3. Thank goodness the Greens have integrity
to have just bowed down and said "Yes massa" to a Nader endorsement would have meant the end of the Greens as a viable party in the US. Glad to see Cobb got the nomination. Now if the Greens would only concentrate on winning local and state elections.....

The Greens are a full-fledged political party! Remember the San Fran mayor's race? The Dems pulled out all of their big guns not to defeat a Repub, but to beat a Green. The Greens are going to become more and more powerful over the next few years, when more and more people realize that on issue after issue the Dems and the Repubs just aren't that far apart. Go Green! Welcome to DU, please stay in the "mix". :hi:

10. I'm a Greenocrat myself, a Green who knows when it is smart to vote
for dems. This should help both parties.

24. Greenocrat.
I feel like that fits me although I have been registered Dem for years and was No Party Affiliation NPA before.

I tried to change to Green before the Dem primaries started up and got caught up with Dean. (Some paperwork prob kept me from doing it) Now that its back to status quo I think I will try to change to Green again. It really suits my agenda better.

I also know our system is crap and we will often have to comprimise.

cheers.

27. Be proud
The Greens have just shown the best sign of maturity yet.

I think that as our climate goes to hell in a handcar, the Green party will be ever more important. My party risks being increasingly less relevant as it steps away from looking out for the common Americans interests in a time of radically changing paradigms --
Global Politics, Climate, Economics, these are rapidly generating issues that land in the American livingroom.

DLC -- Please note --

I want to see no daylight between we Dems and the Greens.
I want the Greens back as the core of a new Democratic party.
We need to make America about its people, not its board of directors and investors.

There is no point to prosperity in a threatened world.

In a dystopia, no amount of gold will make you happy.
Power without justice is a poisoned wine.
There is no free trade in a world held hostage to energy oligarchs.
I am sick of America being the pride of the third world.

If you can't see it starting to happen, then you need a white cane.
We Dems need to paint our donkey green.

--End of DLC slap

So you go guys! Thank your for a decision that may just prevent a civil war down the line.
Thanks from this progressive Dem.

11. Considering just how close and crucial this
election really is, I don't think there's any such thing right now as a "safe state." And THANK YOU GREENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

15. You are right abolut the "safe state" thing.
And, to me, Cobb is a much more attractive candidate than Ralph, so the Greens might actually do better in November than they would have.

30. So, is a vote for Cobb a vote for Bush, or Nader?
You're both right. No safe state.

At least the ones in Wisconsin, now if the Florida Greens would show some balls or ovaries, I would be more likely to vote for them here!

17. Kind of a No-Brainer
Considering that Nader already stated that he would not accept the nomination and backing him through endorsement could have cost the party their ballot access in a number of states....

22. Uh, what about Camejo?
What's he gonna do?

I still feel that the Left should pull together just this once and go ahead and vote for J. Kerry. As a Green, I feel that another 4 years of BushCo would be a disaster that America would never recover from.

Does anyone know? More importantly, which of the battleground states might this prevent Nader from running in?

29. he still has the reform party
I think which will get him on like seven states. 6 are not swing but Florida will be the seventh and that sucks! he will be lucky to show up on ballots in 12 states, at least that is what i hear ... mydd.com has some info. I voted green in 2000 because Massachusetts was not going for bush but this year Kerry is the ONLY choice.

THANK YOU GREENS!:hippie:
