State Dems ride off to support Texans

Five Colorado Democrats piled into a van and headed to New Mexico today to show their support for Texas Democrats who have fled their state to stymie a Republican-led congressional redistricting plan.

Colorado Senate Minority Leader Joan Fitz-Gerald, D-Golden, said she also wants to warn the 11 Texas lawmakers what could happen if they return home before a deadline to pass a plan expires.

Colorado Republicans rushed through a redistricting plan during the last three days of the session in May, suspending legislative rules that could have allowed Democrats in Colorado to block it.

I wish the Wyoming Dems would do the same, but they'd be lynched. Go Greenies (as in people from Colorado not Naderites)!
