Appeals court rejects challenge to Ten Commandments plaque

The Associated Press

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A federal appeals court has refused to have all 11 of its judges reconsider a ruling by a three-judge panel that allowed a Ten Commandments plaque to remain on the Chester County Courthouse.

1. As an athiest...
I disagree with trying to remove antique expressions such as this and agree with the Chester County Commissioners.

I disagree only with new expressions of religious preference entering the government, as there is a fundamentally new reality and diversity than there was then in many places. I don't want to redact every mention of god from historical documents or monuments.

This is fundamentally different to me than the Alabama(?) ten commandments monument added last year (and ordered to be removed) and the McCarthy "Red-test" adding of under god to the pledge (forced action).

This is political correctness gone overboard.

2. An 83-year old mistake is still a mistake.
It isn't pc gone overboard. It is whether or not public money is used to support religion. It has been found unconstitutional over and over again.

Maybe we should have let the south keep slavery because, after all, it was historic!
