1. This number actually matches this site.
First time I've seen that. Here' the link for their names, ages, hometowns, and causes of death. Very sad.

2. Just noticed something
138 died before Juniors boat trip where he declared hostilities over and 130 have died since then. More are going to die during the occupation then in the actual invasion of Iraq very soon at this rate.

7. Actually, the "tipping point" number is 147.

146 died before "Mission Accomplished." I hope it never gets there.

On Edit: Now that I look at it, the 130 number appears accurate, but the 268 number does not. I believe the actual number is 276. It's in the site I posted above. Maybe they are not counting those who died outside of Iraq.

3. Need info on injuries too
For every soldier killed, probably five or six are injured. The government is not reporting those figures. They do not want us to know the hospital wards are filling up with our young men and women.

4. I saw the number in the local paper yesterday
The wounded figure was a little under 1% of the troops currently in Iraq, something like 1,400 or so. No link.

8. so by this figure
there are only eight more deaths until the post-"war" casualties match the "war" toll.

When that happens, what happens? Will it make more than a one-day blip in the mainstream media? I wonder: once this benchmark is passed, will the count become even more invisible?
