German Police Detain 71 at Neo-Nazi March
Edited on Sat Aug-16-03 09:24 PM by DeathvadeR
BERLIN (AP) - German police detained 71 neo-Nazis marching Saturday in the Bavarian town where Adolf Hitler's deputy Rudolf Hess was buried after his 1987 suicide.

Police said they deployed some 1,000 officers to prevent trouble at the march, which drew 2,600 neo-Nazis to Wunsiedel. Demonstrators were detained for displaying outlawed Nazi symbols like the swastika or for carrying weapons such as knives, tear gas spray and a baseball bat, police spokesman Klaus Bernhardt said.

All 71 were released without charges by Saturday evening, by which time marchers dispersed without incident, he said. Police said they also confiscated neo-Nazi music CDs from some marchers

3. ....

shhh. those are the parallels that are generally not emphasized.

"All 71 were released without charges by Saturday evening, by which time marchers dispersed without incident, he said. Police said they also confiscated neo-Nazi music CDs from some marchers. "

No charges speaks louder than words. I guess they didn't have anything they could charge them with. You know civil freedoms do go a long way to protect even the so named most dastardly.

4. Typisch.
Lots of noise about neo-nazis and not a WHISPER about Grenzecamp. They are ubiquitous, fighting racism UND DUMMHEIT, making QUITE a bit of noise and what's being fed to the Amis? :eyes:

Reminds me of a 250 strong neo-mazi march that happened a few years ago. It cost this fair city a BUNDLE to protect the wingnuts from the 5,000 citizens who spontaneously took to the streets to drive them out post-haste. Since then the goons have been denied permits to march here...
