GENEVAÑMexico went on the offensive against its powerful northern neighbour yesterday, bringing three complaints against the United States to the World Trade Organization.

Mexican WTO Ambassador Eduardo Perez Motta demanded reimbursement for more than 10 years of dumping duties charged by the U.S. on Mexican cement

All three requests were blocked by the United States, which said it was "disappointed" by the demands.

What is it with this standard response from the WH about "disappointment." Whenever someone does something that is egregious (to them), they are disappointed. They must be a lot of dejected looks over there at the WH these days, what with all the disappointment.

Seriously, do they expect to get anywhere with complaints against US "regulations"? The WTO has long been a force for US interests. And I'm sure that if the WTO finds in favor of Mexico, shribco will declare the WTO "irrelevant".

I do think the WTO ruled against America when Bush implemented steel tarrifs two years ago.
