A second Canadian working to improve conditions for children in war-torn Iraq has died from the blast at UN headquarters in Baghdad that killed at least 20.
Gillian Clark, 47, of Toronto, an aid worker with Christian Children's Fund, has died from her injuries in the blast Tuesday, the agency said Wednesday.
Ms. Clark, who was assessing the needs of children in Baghdad as part of a UNICEF-funded study, had been in Iraq since shortly after the war ended.
She had worked in child protection and emergency support for 15 years, and previously worked with Save the Children, International Rescue Committee and Oxfam. Ms. Clark is a graduate of the University of Guelph.
