Report: U.S suspects Iraqi WMD in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley
OK, I have my doubts about a Drudge-linked "WorldTribune.com" site's newsworthiness, but thought I'd post it here for us to chew over anyway.

What's the matter... did the Syria and Iran Product Roll-Outs fail? Back to the Lebanon for us, where we've had so much prior success?

Besides, weren't they going to wait until around the 11th of next month to roll this product out? Sigh...

http://www.worldtribune.com/worldtribune/breaking_1.html

Excerpt:

U.S. intelligence suspects Iraq's weapons of mass destruction have finally been located.

Unfortunately, getting to them will be nearly impossible for the United States and its allies, because the containers with the strategic materials are not in Iraq.

Instead they are located in Lebanon's heavily-fortified Bekaa Valley, swarming with Iranian and Syrian forces, and Hizbullah and ex-Iraqi agents, Geostrategy-Direct.com will report in Wednesday's new weekly edition.

U.S. intelligence first identified a stream of tractor-trailer trucks moving from Iraq to Syria to Lebaon in January 2003. The significance of this sighting did not register on the CIA at the time.

1. They're flailing
We're throwing out potential next targets with abandon, waiting to see which one(s) gain traction with CNN and Faux. As soon as one of them does, poof, that's where our troops will be dying next.

2. Well Well Well,
What an absolutely fantastic reason to invade Lebanon! Take control under the guise of anti-terrorism. Give the border lands to Israel to build settlements. One BIG Middle Eastern happy family! Isn't this nice? We'll proabably be in there by January. Anyone want to bet on this???

6. US invading, probably not
occupying Iraq has too much of the military tied down to take on Lebanon, Syria, and Iran as well (for ANY attack on Lebanon would not be a limited engagement).

But I wouldn't put it past Israel to be allowed to re-invade, however. I heard a crazy rumour going around that there was a Lebanese family that was found to have been left un-terrorized by Israel's last several decades of war against Lebanon, they want to get that guy while they still can and make it unanimous.

5. Nah...
the WMD's are in a warehouse in Jersey City, right next to the Holland Tunnel.

I thought everyone knew that.

Anyway, aside from howcum the "significance of this sighting" was lost on our protectors, I thought Iranis, Syrians, and Hebiollah were the "enemy." Shouldn't this endless war on terrorism concentrate on some supposedly known and serious terrorists?

I guess not.

I mean, what's the sense of going to war with someone who might actually shoot back. That's just about as sensible as asking howcum the CIA didn't register on these truck shipments. I mean, we're all about terrorists, aren't we? Keeping on our toes around the world...

IS ANYBODY IN CHARGE HERE?

If they're next to the Holland Tunnel, they're in DOWNTOWN Jersey City, you alleged New Jerseyite! Downtown Jersey City isn't part of Jersey City any more than Riverdale is part of the Bronx. I ought to know--I lived there until September 8, 2001, and spent September 11 waiting for the phone company to show up. They did--just in time to see the second tower get hit. Two of my co-workers who lived there couldn't get home for three days.

7. See you on the Dark Side of the Moon....
Both the newspaper that printed the article and the source it quotes are owned by Sun Myung Moon, that freak who owns the Washington Times and thinks he is Jesus.

Moonies... strange thing.

Google "bush" "moonies" and you are even in for more of a space trip.

-----------

Bush Praises Moon as 'Man of Vision'
BUENOS AIRES (Reuter) - The South Korean evangelist Sun Myung Moon launched a new Spanish-language newspaper for the whole of Latin America this weekend, with the backing of guest George Bush who praised Moon's respect for editorial independence.

The former U.S. president, guest speaker at a banquet late Saturday to launch Moon's new publication "Tiempos del Mundo" (Times of the World), was full of praise for the controversial evangelist's best-known newspaper, the Washington Times, and referred to Moon as "the man with the vision."

Bush then travelled with Moon to neighboring Uruguay Sunday to help him inaugurate a seminary in the capital Montevideo to train 4,200 young Japanese women to spread the word of his Church of Unification across Latin America.

Moon already owns a major newspaper, bank and hotel in Uruguay and is buying up land in the Argentine province of Corrientes, where he plans to construct what his followers call "ideal cities".

15. This was reported without questioning on today's newscast.
I just can't remember if it was on NPR or as I walked by the TV. Little doubt that the Righties want to place the spectre of "it was already found" into the cavernous skulls of the mindless listeners.

Either that or they want to attack Lebenon. Small country. W* could then get back into flight uniform and declare it over, again.

He looks better in a flight uniform than as a president, I'll say that for him.

17. Bekaa Valley has nasty connotations
This is a way to go to war with Syria without crossing the Syrian border. They declare war on the Bekaa Valley, bomb the shit out of it, and send in some National Guardsmen to bury mutilated bodies.

Instant victory. This could be the new product for September.

So we piss off Syria! Big deal!

The worst Syria can do is cut off intelligence on Al Queda!

(oh, wait, they've already done that)

and being a safety minded and magnanimous sort, I believe I may be forced against my will to go through her underwear drawer. I don't know if strip searching will be necessary, but I can bring myself to the task out of grave concern for our national safety...
