1. This is a step in the right direction for Dallas.
I truly hope this does not become a race issue. This isn't about race. It's about a pathetic individual (Bolton) who has presided over multiple scandals, including the most embarassing scandal in the history of the Dallas PD. (crooked cops and fake drugs) The morale of our police officers is at an all time low. (source) Plus it has FINALLY become public knowledge that Dallas is the #1 large city in the nation for violent crimes commited per capita. (source) I think this will be a real morale booster for the city, and believe me, we need it.

6. I will never forget a billboard I saw in the Dallas/Ft Worth area:
It was a huge billboard advertising "Homicide and Suicide Cleaning." It was close to Six Flags.

7. PAYBACK to Repukes -- Giliani to get $5mil
to address a non-existing crime crisis! This is terrible. I cannot believe Laura Miller wanted the mayorial position so bad she would sleep with the enemy.....They planted a terrible story about how bad crime is in Dallas so they could hire Guilani to the tune of $5mil or more --- it is all kickbacks!

10. non-existing crime crisis?
I have not heard this about Giuliani getting $5M from Dallas. Do you have a source? I would really like to see one.
I have heard that Laura Miller wants to start a program similar to what Rudy used in NYC. And it was reported that during her vacation, she "read his book." (So she's given $19.95 of the so-called $5M to Giuliani so far.) I don't put sleeping with the enemy past her, but this has nothing to do with how she became Mayor. She beat Mary Whatshername by a large and convincing margin, with no help from anyone in NY.

As for the crime story, it is not planted. It is very real

Murders in Dallas in June were up 300 percent over the same period in the previous year. For the first six months of this year compared with the first six months of last year, murder in Dallas is up 71 percent.

When the numbers from the FBI's Uniform Crime Report are used to rank American cities with populations of a million or more, the results are devastating for Dallas. The overall crime rate, violent and nonviolent, is higher in Dallas than in any other city with a population of more than 1 million.

put out a report that showed we were LOWER in crime for the past 30 years. It was all a setup. Now Guilani can come to Dallas and get $5mil the same way he got $4mil from Mexico to "clean up" their district. They were all in cohoots...Miller I want to fire Bolton, but the bad hire won't be enough we need to scare them with "statistics" DALLAS WORST IN THE USA - yeah right!

13. Giuliani cooked the NYC crime stats
there are reports that St Rudy cooked the NYC crime stats to make himself look good. cops were pressured to downgrade incident reports so either a crime would not be reported, or it would be reported in a less serious category. as he left office (of course) he pulled a fast one to prevent his mayoral records from becoming public.

15. To stop crime
They really should bring in Bill Clinton- it wasn't until his crime bill, which funded over 100 000 cops, (remember "Midnight Basketball") when crime went down.

The end of the crack epidemic was a big factor also.
