AFL-CIO endorses Bustamante in case Davis recalled

The California AFL-CIO voted Tuesday to endorse Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante for governor in case Gov. Gray Davis is ousted in the Oct. 7 recall election.

The labor federation had already come out against the recall itself, but threw its support to Bustamante as a fall-back position. The results of the vote were revealed by delegates leaving a meeting at a Manhattan Beach hotel.

We can definitely win this thing. Now let's watch the "liberal" and "conservative" Republicans fight it out. There are advantages whichever way things turn out. Multiple Republicans? That's helpful. Only Arnie? Good too, because then we can simply tar and feather him and drive the stake through his proverbial heart. Perhaps Arnie will drop out if the right sees through his act...
